Discuss a facility assessment

A practical assessment of critical power, cooling, infrastructure condition, and readiness for change.

A facility can keep running while maintenance issues, capacity limits, and undocumented dependencies accumulate. A focused assessment helps you understand the condition of critical systems, the evidence behind apparent constraints, and where further investigation or investment belongs.

Built on site-assessment and infrastructure due-diligence experience spanning UPS, power distribution, HVAC, chillers, fire suppression, load calculations, and redundancy reviews.

01

Critical power

Review available information on UPS systems, power distribution, loads, maintenance condition, and redundancy arrangements. Identify dependencies and questions that need further validation.

02

Cooling & thermal infrastructure

Assess the agreed air- and liquid-cooling systems, including CRAH/CRAC units, chillers, CDUs, rear-door heat exchangers, and containment where applicable.

03

Capacity & infrastructure dependencies

Examine available load and capacity data alongside equipment documentation to understand the constraints affecting current use and planned changes.

04

Condition, maintenance & monitoring

Review observed equipment condition, maintenance records, alarms, monitoring coverage, and known deficiencies within the agreed inspection boundaries.

05

Facility documentation & protection systems

Review relevant drawings, equipment information, and fire-suppression documentation, noting gaps that affect operation, coordination, or future project planning.

HOW WE WORK

A focused, collaborative process.

01

Establish the boundaries

Agree the site, systems, business concerns, access arrangements, available data, and inspection or testing limits.

02

Review the facility

Combine a scoped site assessment with documentation review and discussions with the people responsible for the infrastructure.

03

Evaluate the dependencies

Connect findings across systems and identify where additional information or specialist investigation is necessary.

04

Prioritize improvements

Present the findings and a practical sequence for maintenance decisions, technical follow-up, and investment planning.

What is the difference between a facility audit and an operations audit?+

A facility audit focuses on infrastructure and its supporting evidence. An operations audit focuses on how people maintain, operate, change, and respond to that infrastructure. A combined engagement is useful when the concerns cross both areas.

Does an assessment require an interruption to service?+

The review method is agreed before work begins. Documentation review, interviews, and visual inspection may be sufficient for some questions. Any intrusive work or testing requires a separately agreed scope and the site’s authorized procedures.

Can you assess readiness for liquid cooling or HPC?+

Yes. An engagement can examine the infrastructure and operating questions raised by a proposed deployment, informed by experience with direct-to-chip cooling, CDUs, rear-door heat exchangers, and HPC installations. Equipment-specific design and testing responsibilities are defined during scoping.

Can you support due diligence or an upgrade decision?+

Yes. The assessment can be organized around a proposed acquisition, infrastructure upgrade, capacity concern, or investment decision. Clear questions and access to relevant records make the resulting advice more useful.
